We were contracted by a private developer — a client we have worked with successfully on previous projects — to construct two new four-bedroom detached houses in Hove. The brief was straightforward: to once again deliver high-end, good-quality new build properties that fully met our client’s exacting standards and personal choices throughout. 

Project duration

We completed this project over a period of eighteen months.

Scope of work

We acted as main contractor for the full scope of work on this project, taking responsibility for everything from start to finish, including: 

  • Demolition of the existing bungalow on site 
  • Lowering of the site level and installation of retaining walls
  • Construction of both four-bedroom detached properties 
  • All trades throughout the build
  • Painting and decorating on completion 
  • Landscaping of both gardens 

Our approach was guided by the architects’ drawings and detailed specifications, and we worked closely with the client at every stage to ensure their requirements and personal choices were specifically met. 

Challenges and special
requirements

The client required a top-end specification throughout both properties. The principal challenge on this project was the need to lower the height of the existing site and install retaining walls to achieve the correct ground levels for the new builds. We overcame this by working closely with the structural engineers to ensure all groundworks were carried out safely and to the required standard. As with everything on this project, careful collaboration was key to delivering the quality result our client expected.
