Home
extension
in East Grinstead

Our clients were looking to revamp and extend their home in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Keen to make the most of their outdoor space, we were hired to demolish the old, rotting conservatory. We then transformed their property, constructing a new glazed extension, adding new decking, landscaping the garden, and installing a granite fire pit.

Project duration

The project was completed over six months.

Scope of work

We were involved from the offset, helping the clients to design the project. We then carried out the following work:

  • Demolition and removal of the old conservatory.
  • Installation of new glazed extension, including the footings, steel frame structure, and brickwork.
  • Internal finishing of the new extension, including floor tiling, electrical works, installation of underfloor heating, supply and installation of quartzite windowsills, and painting and decorating.
  • Construction of new decking frame and installation of composite decking materials.
  • Digging and installing new garden paths and new patio firepit areas.
  • Managing installation of all new outdoor electrics and garden lighting.

Challenges and special
requirements

The initial project scope was to replace the conservatory, but as work progressed the scope grew to include a wider redesign and modernisation of the garden. Our main challenge was restricted access at the rear of the property. We overcame this by using specialist lifting equipment for the larger and heavier items – including the 1100kg fire pit – and by hiring skilled digger and machine operators to ensure that all materials were moved into place safely and professionally.
